Just another thought.
After my haircut, Ryan (childhood friend and fabulous hair stylist) and I walked over to get something to eat. Some quesadillas and a few drinks later, we were walking back. We came across these paw prints in the cement. Thinking they were cute, I snapped a few photos.

Forever on a Walk

But I was taken back to a conversation I once had with Kelly. See, I love old houses and neighborhoods because they have “character.” So I made Kelly move to an old place after we did our time in the lofts. We noticed something in the cement – like a foot print or something. I pondered aloud whose foot left that print, where were they going, and similar questions. Kelly said, “Yes, yes, it adds character.” A sentence he had heard me say over and over again regarding every imperfection we found in the old apartment.
It occurred to me, though, if I were building a new house or laying new a new driveway or patio, I’d be upset if some guy left a footprint or let their dog walk in my newly laid cement. I’d insist that it be done over. Then I realized what that said about my character.
So I have a new outlook on things I do or have done being done perfectly.
