In my last post, I mentioned the project of sorting through some of my mother’s scattered photos that I took on. Well, I’m excited to say I have finished it. They are all sorted, dated, and some even put in albums. But that’s not why I’m posting.

As I was going through them, I came along this photo.

Christmas Morning 1996

My detective work had told me that this was Christmas morning from 1996. So I flipped the photo over to write ’96 on it and I saw this.

Written on the back of photo

That was all that was written.

I knew who wrote it. And, just like now, the tears began filling my eyes.

My Mimi had written that on the back of a random photo.

And I found it just shy of two years after she died.

And I miss her. So much.

Strangely, a few days before I stumbled on that picture, I had been looking through old emails and came across one that I wrote to my friend Jen right after Mimi died.

Just wanted to let you know that Mimi passed away this past Saturday. We’re glad she is at peace and in heaven now. While we were lucky to have her for the time that we did, Earth was not the place for such an angel.
