- Went to Salem College in North Carolina
- Then to Dallas Baptist University for my M.A.

- I like long walks on the beach – just kidding. I am not at all fond of long walks on the beach. Sand everywhere, increased probability of stepping on stingy creatures, or worse, litter. I definitely like my beach walks short and functional.

Truths
- I’m usually the one behind the camera, not in the photos but my friends seem to be trying to change that lately (and my ex-wife was amazing at getting me in front of the camera whether I knew it or not).
- I am passionate about ending domestic violence and sexual assault. No one deserves abuse.
- I have a tendency to be too honest which wouldn’t be that bad if I had a bit more tact.
- I love photography.
- I am very indecisive, I think.
- I’ve been told that on first impression, others think I’m a snob – usually because I am so quiet as I take everything in.
- I enjoy being around people who are genuine, sincere, and kind.
- I love all animals…and insects…and spiders…I love all creatures. I just don’t particularly like them ON me.
- I’m an introvert.
- I’m very laid back (well, unless said creatures are in fact on me).
- I can be silly but mostly have such a dry sense of humor that people can’t tell if I’m joking or not.
- I can get along with almost everyone.
- I like to think I can hold my own in an intelligent conversation.
- I’ve heard people say I’m funny. I do crack myself up all the time.
- I’ve never played sports, and I’m not very good when I try as I have this aversion to balls coming at my head.
- I can’t stand to see animals hurt or even hear them whimper – ever – even in movies or tv shows.
- I can find the good in any situation or person. Sometimes it takes a few looks, but it’s there.
- I am completely ignorant about politics, by choice.
- I am totally used to (and ok with) having dog and cat hair everywhere.
- I love the smell of the air right after it rains.
- I can admit when I’m wrong but luckily don’t have to very often (wink, wink).
- I love to laugh.
- I make a point to be friendly to everyone.
- I get frustrated when people beat around the bush and don’t say what they really mean.
- I have a lot yet to learn.
Quirks
- I love quoting others.
- I am terrible with eye contact.
- I’m impatient.
- I like true crime stories (I mean, I have a favorite serial killer).
- I love being able to go back and trace my train of thought, and love it when others do as well.
- Apparently, I struggle with admitting that I don’t know something.
- I laugh at my own jokes even if I’m the only one.
- I talk for my animals.
- Almost everything that happens in life reminds me of a scene from a movie or a line from a song OR an episode from Supernatural.
- My hands always have to be doing something (playing with a paper clip, my own fingers, anything I can find).
- I love playing devil’s advocate but I often forget to tell the other person so they think I’m just arguing.
- I can be a spoiled brat.
- I overthink sometimes. Or do I? I mean, I might. I guess it depends on what we mean by overthinking. Perhaps I should establish a baseline.
- It drives me nuts when people don’t know the difference between your/you’re, to/too/two, there/their/they’re.
- I generally process my thoughts as they come out of my mouth.
- I have higher expectations for myself than I do for others, but not by much.
- Sometimes I have a dirty mind, but other times certain discussions make me blush.
- The songs in my head never sound the same once they come out of my mouth.
- I’m not a fan of spicy foods, and I consider Doritos spicy. But I’m willing to try.
- I rarely take my own advice.
- I like for someone to take care of me when I’m sick.
- I hate not being good at something.
- I don’t like for people to see me cry (ugly crier).
- I can find nearly anything. No, seriously.
- I am pretty good at taking things apart AND (here’s the important part) putting them back together again!

I believe
- I believe Kevin Costner plays the same character in every movie (starring Kevin Costner playing Kevin Costner playing Bob, etc.).
- I believe every successful relationship has these two components: kindness and respect.
- I believe verbal abuse should really be called verbal violence.
- I believe that the female form is exquisite.
- I believe that puppies are the essence of innocence and mischief.
- I believe in breakfast at any time of the day.
- I believe that everyone should spend at least one day volunteering at a homeless shelter.
- I believe stereotypes had to start somewhere.
- I believe that there is a bumper sticker, t-shirt, or icon out there that says exactly what you want to say.
- I believe there is good in any situation, and I can usually find it.
- I believe confidence is sexy.
- I believe arrogance is ugly.
- I believe all dogs are indoor dogs.
- I believe we, as a society, don’t laugh enough.
- I believe in family.
- I believe in love. I believe in sharing love and laughter and joy and peace and light and comfort with others in anyway we can.
